Vinay manages the big data and analytics platform for the search and recommendation engine at thredUP.com. Prior to that, he was the Technology Lead at Xilinx, where he developed large-scale software algorithms for Graph Search Optimization. He led the multi-core router project, a state of the art parallel computing software. He has broad technical expertise in software technology, big data platform, hardware design and large-scale data mining/analytics, plus strong skills in product management, marketing and business strategy. He is also interested in semantic web consumer behavior and how users interact with the web. He has an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He has a MS in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT-BHU, India. He was an instructor of technology at the Mouse Squad Student Technology program in San Jose and a recipient of the Mouse Squad of California’s Volunteer of the Year Award. He is a recipient of nine US patents and has over ten international publications.

Atul has over ten years of experience working at Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard and Altair Engineering in the areas of pricing, licensing, product management, and software development. At Microsoft, he has been focusing on the pricing and licensing of Microsoft Office for consumer channels. He received his Bachelors of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from the India Institute of Technology, Varanasi and his MS from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He has an MBA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Dr. Devesh Upadhyay

He received his MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2001. His areas of focus are modeling, control, and diagnostics of dynamical systems. As part his doctoral work he worked with Prof. Vadim Utkin in developing Sliding Mode Control techniques for the complex gas exchange process in modern diesel engines. At Ford Motor Company, he has been focusing on the modeling control and diagnostics of novel after-treatment systems for lean burn engines. His research has taken on a multidisciplinary nature including aspects of electrical, mechanical, and chemical engineering. He has also been active in areas of complex systems including applications in biological/physiological systems. He is the recipient of several awards within Ford and holds over 25 patents.
Dr. Shashi Aithal
Argonne National Laboratory, University of Chicago.
Dr. Aithal has over 12 years of experience in computational techniques, in both academia and industry. He earned his PhD from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The Ohio State University. His doctoral thesis discussed the numerical solution of plasma and reacting flows. Upon completion of his PhD, he worked as a senior research associate at the Center for Advanced Plasma Engineering at OSU. He worked at the CFD Research Corporation focusing on the modeling of weakly ionized flows in plasma discharges. From 2000-2002, he worked at Novellus Systems of San Jose, CA, where he focused on the development of large-scale 3D CFD models for fluid-flow/heat-transfer analysis in CVD reactors using commercial software such as FLUENT/CFD-ACE. This was followed by over 5 years at HyPerComp, Inc. where he worked on a variety of projects including finite rate kinetics and plasma enhanced combustion. Since 2009, he has been with Argonne National Labs where his work focuses on the modeling of reacting and plasma flows with applications in areas such as plasma enhanced combustion, gas discharge physics and materials processing.
