SimInsights is proud to highlight a transformative collaboration between Princeton Materials Institute (PMI) and Mercer County Community College (MCCC). This partnership is revolutionizing workforce development by leveraging high-fidelity digital twins to train technicians for the next generation of semiconductor manufacturing.
Cost-Effective Training via Digital Twins
Traditional cleanroom training is often cost-prohibitive due to the high expense of semiconductor fabrication equipment. To overcome this barrier, MCCC students collaborated with Bert Harrop at PMI to develop a digital simulation of the Advanced Micro Assembly and Packaging Lab.
This “digital twin” allows students to master state-of-the-art equipment in a virtual environment before stepping into the physical lab. Professor Shianling Wu, the students’ advisor at MCCC, emphasizes the accessibility of this approach: “It’s affordable. You don’t need to go into an expensive cleanroom until you really need to”.
National Community of Practice (CoP) Launch
Building on the success of the TechConnect ’26 Workshop, the group is inviting students and faculty to join the new Digital Twin/AI Content Creators (DTAI-CC) Community of Practice. This student-run initiative focuses on building national competency in DTAI implementations. Please fill out this form to express your interest in joining this community.
About HyperSkill
HyperSkill is a no-code 3D simulation platform for both Virtual and Augmented Reality. HyperSkill was created to enable instructional designers to create immersive training content without having to learn programming. HyperSkill includes thousands of 3D assets and simulations that are accessible for free to users.
About SimInsights
SimInsights’ mission is to democratize the creation of 3D, interactive, immersive, and intelligent simulations. We believe that simulations are the most impactful way to learn, yet few people can actually leverage them as a creative medium. SimInsights offers HyperSkill, a no-code tool to enable everyone to capture their knowledge in the form of 3D immersive, AI-powered simulations and share it with others.
