SimInsights Welcomes 8 Interns for a 6-Month Part-Time Internship

SimInsights is excited to announce that we’ve welcomed eight talented interns from schools of engineering, computer science, and game design for a six-month, part-time internship. These interns are contributing to a variety of exciting projects, gaining hands-on experience in AI, immersive technologies, 3D modeling, and UI/UX design.

Our interns are involved in Generative AI-powered immersive (XR) content generation, exploring how large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT and Gemini can be integrated with no-code platforms such as HyperSkill to accelerate the creation of immersive training, education, and entertainment scenarios. Their work includes rapid prototyping, tackling challenges in automated 3D asset generation, high-quality video production, spatial understanding, and scenario design.

Additionally, interns are working on 3D modeling and asset creation, helping to develop high-quality virtual environments and interactive elements essential for immersive learning experiences. Others are focused on UI/UX design, refining the user experience of HyperSkill by improving interface designs, conducting user research, and implementing UI updates to enhance usability and engagement.

This internship provides our interns with valuable opportunities to apply the skills they’ve gained through their coursework while learning new skills alongside industry professionals. Throughout their time with us, they will develop technical expertise in areas such as programming languages, algorithms, AI tools, UI design, user research, AR/VR development, 3D modeling, and animation. They will also gain valuable experience in teamwork and communication, including project management, presentations, and written and verbal communication.

In addition to CS, AI, and data science projects, we offer experiential learning opportunities in a variety of fields, including:

  • Media Arts: Video production, 2D/3D modeling, and animation for interactive experiences such as video games and simulations.
  • Business: Market research, digital marketing, financial modeling, competitive analysis, state and federal contracting (RFP), entrepreneurship and innovation, and business plan development.
  • Education & Psychology: Designing experiments to collect data and test hypotheses in learning science, cognitive psychology, and educational theory.
  • Simulation: Developing mathematical models across diverse fields to create interactive learning experiences. This includes modeling physical, chemical, or biological systems for use in educational games, VR environments, or web-based applications.

We’re excited to collaborate with these future leaders in the tech and game design industries and look forward to the contributions they will make to our projects.

About HyperSkill

HyperSkill is a no-code 3D simulation platform for both Virtual and Augmented Reality. HyperSkill was created to enable instructional designers to create immersive training content without having to learn programming. HyperSkill includes thousands of 3D assets and simulations that are accessible for free to users. HyperSkill enables non-programmers to author VR/AR content, publish it to various devices and audiences and collect and visualize experience data. HyperSkill has been developed with R&D funding from the National Science Foundation. To learn more, please visit https://siminsights.com/hyperskill/

About SimInsights

SimInsights mission is to democratize the creation of 3D, interactive, immersive and intelligent (I^3) simulations. We believe that simulations are the most impactful way to learn, yet few people can actually leverage them as a creative medium. SimInsights offers HyperSkill, a no-code tool to enable everyone to capture their knowledge in the form of 3D immersive, AI-powered simulations and share it with others. SimInsights team used HyperSkill to create Skillful, a growing collection of simulations to help anyone master any skill.
